Betty Lee Nellum-Brown, 58, of Peoria, passed away at 12:59 p.m. on Friday, November 4, 2016, at Morton Terrace Care Center.
She was born on November 27, 1957 in Peoria, a daughter of Plume and Marie (Beck) Nellum. They preceded her in death, along with a son, Clifton Brown; brothers, Curley Nellum, Jeffrey Beck, Stanley Alsup Jr and Berley Nellum; and sister, Bernette Jackson.
Betty is survived by her sons, Christopher (LaTanya) Brown of Peoria and Andre Brown of Indianapolis; sisters, Mary (Robert L.) McAfee and Elizabeth Nellum, all of Peoria; brothers, Dan and Roy Nellum, both of Peoria; twelve grandchildren; and one great grandson.
She was a Case Worker for the Tri-County Urban League in Peoria. She was formerly employed as a Registered Nurse at OSF St. Francis Medical Center and as a Case Worker with The Children’s Home of Peoria. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Peoria.
Cremation Rites have been accorded and a Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Clary Funeral Home, 3004 West Lake Avenue, in Peoria.
