Baojun (Peter) Si, 47, passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 in Dunlap.
Baojun was born on November 7, 1970 in Daqing, China. He graduated with a Bachelor's degree from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 1992. He then attended Tsinghua University and graduated with a Master degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering in 1995, where he met Annie Wang and married her in 1998.
After Baojun came to the United States, he worked shortly at General Motors and Electronic Data Systems and then worked for Caterpillar for 13 years. During his career in Peoria, Baojun worked as a Sr. Engineer and Engineering Specialist in research/development of machine systems. He authored eight patents in electronic systems and controls. Baojun enjoyed sports, music and photography in his leisure time. He has been a strong contributor to the local community. He was baptized at a church in Indianapolis, IN.
He is survived by his wife Annie and three daughters Audrey, Jazmin and Chloe, all of Dunlap. He was dearly loved as a husband and a father.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 12, 2017 at Clary Funeral Home, 3004 West Lake Avenue, in Peoria. The family requests that you arrive by 1:30 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to his family during this difficult time. Checks may be entitled to "Annie Wang".
