Annette Ellen “Nettie” Sherman, 89, of Peoria, passed away at 4 a.m. on Sunday, October 21, 2012, at Snyder Village in Metamora.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, October 30, 2012, at Clary Funeral Home, 3004 West Lake Avenue in Peoria, with Dr. B.G. Drake, Jr., of Trinity Temple Church, officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Interment will be at a later date.
Nettie was born in Peoria on March 11, 1923, a daughter of Alois and Mary (Hahn) Kaps. She married William J. Sherman on August 8, 1941 in St. Charles, MO. He preceded her in death on March 18, 2001 in Peoria. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Betty Lindenfelzer; and one son, Roger Sherman.
She is survived by her daughter, Annette (Randy) Higgins of Peoria; sons, Randall (Della) Sherman of Washington, Rick (Brenda) Sherman of Peoria and Ross (Michelle) Sherman of St. Louis; ten grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.
Nettie attended Glen Oak Christian Church in Peoria and was a member of the Moose Lodge in Pekin, Elks Lodge #1271 and VFW Post #2078 in East Peoria. She retired as a clerk at the parts counter for Heritage Buick.
Memorial contributions may be made in Nettie’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association Central Illinois Chapter.
