Anna Daniels

Anna K. Daniels, 101, of Peoria, IL, formerly of New York, passed away at noon on Thursday, June 7, 2012, at Rosewood Care Center in East Peoria, IL.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 11, 2012, at Beth David Cemetery in Elmont, NY. There will be no visitation.
Anna was born on July 12, 1910 in New York, a daughter of Daniel and Sarah (Holstein) Kempner. She married Morrie B. Daniels on November 28, 1941 in Manhattan. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, Daniel Daniels; sisters: Estelle Cohen, Teddy Krug and Lotte Rosenson; and brothers, Abe, Sam and Milton Kempner.
She is survived by her son, Spencer Lee Daniels of East Peoria; grandsons, Richard Daniels of Long Island and Jacob Daniels of East Peoria; granddaughter, Bree (Mark) Kohel of Long Island; and great grandson, Darin Kohel of Long Island.
She graduated from Hunter College in New York and earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education. She also earned her Master’s Degree in Education from New York University.
Anna taught 9
th
grade in Manhattan and later taught 6
th
grade at PS 151 Mary D. Carter Elementary school in Queens for many years and worked as a substitute teacher.
She was a member of the Temple of Society of Concord in Syracuse, the Jewish Women Hadassah and the Red Hat Society in Peoria.
Memorial contributions may be made in Anna’s memory to the Chabad Jewish Center of Peoria.
Local arrangements have been entrusted to Clary Funeral Home, 3004 West Lake Avenue, in Peoria.
