Alvie Watt

Alvie Watt, 72 of Peoria, passed away at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 23, 2018, at his residence.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at Clary Funeral Home, 3004 West Lake Avenue, in Peoria. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Cremation rites will be accorded.

Alvie was born on February 1, 1946 in Peoria, a son of John and Idell (Foster) Watt. They preceded him in death, along with his brother, Hugh (Deloris) Watt, of Peoria.

He survived by his brother, John (Patricia) Watt of Peoria; and several nieces and nephews.

Alvie earned a master’s degree and began his career as a teacher and later a professor for a college in New York. Alvie also was employed at Rikers Island Prison, as teacher. He enjoyed college football, museums and had a love for art. Alvie returned back to Peoria in the early 2000’s to care for his mother. He nourished his family and friends with love and faith. His family is most proud of him for his higher education, security and loving them.
