Alto Robison Jr.

Alto "Cowboy" Robison Jr., 69, of Peoria, passed away at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 24, 2012, at Courtyard Estates in Peoria. He was born on November 3, 1942 in Drew, MS, a son of Alto Robison Sr. and Pearl (Davis) Robison. They preceded him in death, along with three sisters and one brother. Alto is survived by his sisters, Frances Robison and Mary Smith of Peoria, Mary (Henry) Slaughter-Facen of Savannah, GA and Idara (Sammy) Harris-Grier of West Covina, CA; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He attended McKinley Grade School, Roosevelt Junior High School and graduated from Manual High School. After graduation, Alto decided to travel to various cities and settled in Sandy Valley, NV, where he lived his life for thirty years as a ranch cowboy. He was known as the black cowboy of Sandy Valley and was loved by everyone. The family would like to thank the staff of Heartland Health Care Center of Peoria and Courtyard Estates for their wonderful care. A private memorial will be held. Arrangements have been entrusted to Clary Funeral Home, 3004 West Lake Avenue, in Peoria.
