Alfreda Scrivens

Alfreda “Freda” Scrivens, 79, of Peoria, passed away at 12:59 p.m. on Sunday, November 6, 2011, at Methodist Medical Center.
Graveside services and interment will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 11, 2011, at Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria. The Rev. Marijane Thomas, who is like a soul sister to Freda’s daughters, and has been there for them and Freda, during their time of need, will officiate.
Freda was born in Cotter, AR on September 5, 1932, a daughter of Levi Floyd and Mattie (Spangler) Tolliver. She married Henry Milton Scrivens on November 11, 1950. He preceded her in death on August 28, 2006 in Peoria. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, one sister and two grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Linda (Jim) Thomas of Spring Bay, Hank Scrivens of Peoria Heights, Terry Scrivens of Glasford and Sherry Scrivens of Peoria; sister, Joyce (Dale) Moody of Arkansas; brother, Leo Tolliver from the state of Washington; extended sisters, Sharon (Jerry) Demmin of East Peoria; Millie Aderholtz of Pekin and Penny Harris of East Peoria; nine grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
Freda will be deeply missed, but we know she is with God, enjoying her homecoming. We love you mom.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Clary Funeral Home, 3004 West Lake Avenue, in Peoria.
