Wendy Richey

Wendy Jayne Richey, 57, of Peoria, passed away in her home on April 30, 2013. She now joins her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
She was born on January 5, 1956 in Herrin, the daughter of Armand and Jane (McNeil) Parola. They preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by one grandson, Eric Morris. She married Joseph M. Richey on October 18, 1999 in Springfield. He survives.
Wendy is also survived by her daughters of a previous union, Keri Morris of Hot Springs, AR and Peri Morris of Cambria; stepchildren Joe Jr. and Dawayne Hight of Peoria, Rochelle Chase of Chillicothe, Erik Richey of Davenport, IA, Emilie Richey of Cambridge and Crystal Garner of Springfield; grandchildren, Will and Sly Hardy of Springfield, Amber Meadows of Zeigler, Amarah, Emma, Isaiah, Oliana, Ulana, Yavela, and Alyssa Richey of Cambridge; siblings, Virgil Parola of Springfield, John Parola of Bangkok, Thailand, Vikki Devor of Brazil, IN and Linda Duprey of Royalton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was a member of the Riverside Community Church and lived her life for the Lord. She and her husband worked together to minister and share their own testimonies in the Celebrate Recovery Program, both at their previous church in Southern Illinois and also at Riverside.
Wendy loved animals and devoted her life to the care and rescue of many furry friends over the years. In her earlier life, she worked as a seamstress and recently was self-employed doing home improvement and cleaning services. Lastly, she was the House Manager at Prairie Center of the Arts.
She loved to spend time with family and friends and will be greatly missed.
Cremation rites have been accorded and a memorial service will be at noon on Saturday, May 4, 2013, at Riverside Community Church.
Memorial contributions may be made in Wendy’s memory Cancer Treatment Centers of America or Vitas Hospice Care.
Arrangements have been entrusted with Clary Funeral Home, 3004 West Lake Avenue, in Peoria.
