Robert B. Burnett, 77, of Peoria, passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at Fondulac Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in East Peoria.
A memorial visitation will be from 1pm to 4pm on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at American Legion Post #2 in Peoria, where he was a member, with by a Celebration of Robert's life at 2pm, followed by military honors.
Robert was born in Peoria on March 7, 1942, a son of Alfred W. and Juanita (Trigg) Burnett. They preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by two sons, Bobby and Scottie Burnett; and brothers, John and Raymond Burnett.
He is survived by his siblings, Eva Burnett of Peoria of Peoria, Al Burnett of Peoria, Phillip (Andrea) Burnett of Pekin and Sharon Cooley of Peoria; grandchildren, Jessica Reynolds and Elise Rodenburg; and great-grandchildren, Ella Jane Reinoehl and Everleigh Rose.
Robert served in the United States Army from 1964-1967. Because of his honorable service in the United States military, he was privileged to go on the Greater Peoria Honor Flight trip to Washington, D.C. His experience was so special to him that the family would like to request in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made in Robert's memory to the Greater Peoria Honor Flight.
