Michael Gregory

Michael Rene Gregory, 54 of Peoria passed away at his residence on Saturday, April 9, 2022.

Michael was born to John and Gloria (Richardson) Gregory on July 7, 1967.

He graduated from Woodruff High School in Peoria, Illinois in 1987. For the past twenty-one years, Michael worked full-time as a bus driver for Peoria Public Schools. His hobbies included auto-repair and researching performance cars. He especially enjoyed spending time with friends and family.

Michael was a lifelong Christian, giving his life to Christ at the age of nine years old. Throughout his childhood, he served as a Youth Usher at New Morning Star Baptist Church in Peoria. His faith in God and the love and support of family sustained him through his battle with cancer.

He leaves to cherish his most precious memories his mother, his siblings, Charles (Pam) Richardson, Dietrich (Brendetta) Richardson, and Angela Gregory; his maternal uncle Frederick (Cheryl) Garrett, and a host of nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends.

He is preceded in death by his father, his grandmother, Versell Richardson, his great-aunt Virgie Hall, his maternal aunts, Virgie Mack, and Patricia (Orville) Nevels, and his maternal uncles, Edgar (Marian) McKnight and Ulysses (Arperdella) McKnight.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 23, at 11:00 a.m., with a visitation at 10:00 a.m. at Cumerford-Clary Funeral Home in Peoria. Reverend Jeffrey Foreman will officiate the service. Cremation rites will follow.
