Leroy Wessel

Leroy Walter Wessel, 83, of Havana, passed away at 9:05 a.m. on Tuesday, August 30, 2011, at his home.
He was born in Secor on January 25, 1928, a son of Carl F. and Elsa H. (Porth) Wessel. They preceded him in death, along with his sister, Onetta and brothers, Arlo and Delmar. He married Linda L. Norman on May 25, 1982. She survives.
He is also survived by his stepdaughters, Kristina Jones and Julielle Waruszewski; sisters, Jean and Carol; brother, Jerry; grandchildren: Brunswick, Chasen, Chad, Gunnar and Jesse.
Leroy retired as a machine specialist for Caterpillar, Inc. in East Peoria and was a life member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Secor.
Cremation rites have been accorded and there will be no services at this time.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Illinois Lung Institute in Peoria.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Clary Funeral Home, 3004 West Lake Avenue in Peoria.
