Homer Pearl Bolander, 92, of Peoria, passed away at 1:55 a.m. on Tuesday, April 26, 2011, at Proctor Hospital in Peoria.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 28, 2011, at Clary Funeral Home, 428 West McClure Avenue in Peoria, with Pastor Tom Pisano officiating. Interment will be in Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria.
Homer was born in Chariton, IA on October 25, 1918, a son of William Pearl and Mary Susan (Vaughn) Bolander. He married Dorothy Ross in Peoria. She preceded him in death on November 1, 1987 in Peoria. He was also preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.
He was formerly a deputy sheriff in Fulton County. He was a member of the Laborers International Union Local #165 in Peoria and a member of Christ Bible Church in Creve Coeur.
Homer is survived by his sister, Virginia (Laman) Cansler of Bolivar, MO and several nieces and nephews.
