Christopher R. Smith, 43, of Peoria, passed away at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 19, 2016, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
The family will be receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, July 1, 2016, at Clary Funeral Home, 3004 West Lake Avenue, in Peoria. Cremation rites have been accorded.
Christopher was born on December 9, 1972 in Peoria, a son of Edward F. and Rita K. (VanTreese) Smith. He married Cynthia A. “Cindy” Burson on March 24, 2015 in Peoria. She survives.
He is also survived by his parents, of Washington; stepson, Dillon J. Berhenke of Creve Coeur; stepdaughter, Jennifer M. Hauschild of Naperville; brother, Phil (Julie) Smith of East Peoria; nieces, Juliet and Samantha; nephew, Christian; and in-laws, Lewis and Georgianna Burson of Orion. He loved animals and enjoyed walking his dogs, Blue, Zeus and his service dog, Jack.
Christopher was a painter for Caterpillar at their SS facility in East Peoria. He was formerly employed with Export Packaging in East Peoria.
